Has anyone else had the misfortune of trying to find gigs? Maybe misfortune isn’t the right word, but it’s a struggle to find a positive word to describe the experience. There are countless blogs that guide and instruct up-and-coming artists on how to go about booking gigs, but barely any websites that allow you to do so.

A lot of the open mic nights operate on a first-come-first-served basis, but for bands like ours who need notice (we have a tonne of equipment), this isn’t practical. Also, a lot of performance spaces only cater towards an acoustic or the typical live band setup. Again, we have a lot of equipment, so logistically this wouldn’t work.

So what do we do about this? Well, to be honest we are new to the game. We did have success in securing a spot at a show via Gumtree, but that is the only success story to date. To be honest, we don’t really know how to go about it yet but we are learning as we go along.

And any information that could possibly help other artists, we will share. It’s a big, wide world out there just saturated with talent so… Wish us luck!! IT’S NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM!!
